Issue 150 of Stitch is filled with fresh takes on traditional techniques. Loëtitia’s folk-art butterfly project is a breath of fresh air. With a modern colour scheme and clever use of stumpwork techniques, this project won’t fail to provide a new challenge to even the most experienced of stitchers! It’s also simply beautiful to behold.

There are plenty more modern takes on embroidery in this issue – from Bev Caleno’s textile rockpool to Jessica Kinnersley’s memento tin. Have a go at combining goldwork[Text Wrapping Break]with ribbonwork with Joyce Wong’s seahorse and enjoy elevating the humble dandelion to a work of art with Debbie von Grabler-Crozier’s silk-shaded cushion. We also have a leaf project from new contributor Jenifer Davidson, worked in a variety of textural stitches. I hope you enjoy experimenting with traditional techniques in a modern style and can look at classic stitches with fresh eyes!
