The Hornsea Gazette, June 6, 2024.

Leading with the region's tribute's to the heroes of D-Day on June 6, 1944. Beacons were being lit in towns and villages across the area along with locations right across the country and overseas, with services taking place throughout the day.

Last week, Hornsea Museum paid tribute to the 1940s era with an open day featuring lots of activities and artefacts - and Hedon Museum is staging an exhibition at St Augustine's Church, bringing to life the stories of those who gave their lives during the Second World War.

- A Question Time-style General Election event is being held in Hedon
- Withernsea RNLI crew sign the 200th anniversary scroll that is going on a journey around the country
