MISHA GALAGANOV
(Telemann’s viol fantaisies on the viola, page 32) is professor of viola and chair of strings at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, US. In addition to teaching, performing, and writing, he coordinates string and chamber music programmes and is on the board of the American Viola Society.
PHILIP KASS
(Books, page 94) was an associate of William Moennig & Son for 25 years. He has carried out extensive original research into English and French bow making, and the Amati family. His book on the violin makers of Mantua, co-authored with Andrea Zanrè, is forthcoming.
STEFANO PIO
(Filippo de Filippi, page 38) is a scholar and musician based in the beautiful city of Venice, Italy. He is the author of three books on the Venetian violin school from the 16th to the 19th century.
