With this issue, our perennial favourite ‘What if?’ theme makes a return to the pages of Wargames Illustrated, providing the creative team here at Wi Towers, and associated contributors, the opportunity to explore some wild ideas about where history could have taken us on the tabletop. To that end, we muse over the Americans allying with the Germans in 1945, see Stratagem Dice influencing the Battle of Vitoria 1813, supply several variants to the Agincourt Campaign of 1415, and use a set of Wild-West gunfight rules to play a Medieval skirmish!

You might want to do some ‘What ifing?’ of your own with the Warlord Games figures bagged with this magazine issue. These Caesarian Legionaries have been given the official stamp of approval by Roman historian and author Simon Elliott and should make for a welcome addition to your existing ranks of 28mm Romans, or tempt you to begin collecting these (miniature) giants of the ancient world.
