Why do you run?
I started running at 53. I’d just overcome a four-year battle with anorexia and to celebrate, and raise money for the mental health charity Mind, my three daughters and I ran the Great North Run. I loved it and carried on running. At my worst, I was hospitalised for 10 weeks and only allowed out on short, supervised walks. Now totally recovered, I run to celebrate and enjoy the feeling of accomplishment as well as the boost it gives my mental health.
