1 Christina Macdonald launched Women’s Running in February 2010. “The biggest highlight for me during my time at WR was winning several awards, and also my running comeback. In 2011, I tore the meniscus (cartilage) in my left knee and was told I’d never run again. I spoke to a physio friend who said I could run if I did regular strength work and, within two years, I’d run nine half marathons and one marathon. I qualified as a running coach in 2012 and after leaving WR went on to become a personal trainer. I’ve also written two books, Run Yourself Fit and Dementia Care: A Guide.”
