There’s nothing more confidence knocking than receiving a diagnosis of a long-term medical condition. Fear of making your health worse and being unsure of your capabilities might put you off running. There’s good evidence, however, that regular exercise is beneficial in managing long-term medical conditions. It can be a challenge, but with perseverance, support and the right advice, running can remain a big part of your life. Obviously, nothing replaces the advice of your own doctors and nurses who know your exact circumstances, but some incredible women who are out there enjoying their running, want to share their tips to encourage you to overcome the barriers between you and your trainers.
