Literary blogging platform Substack has become increasingly popular with writers, so much so that even famous dead authors are signing up, writes Gary Dalkin. Now George Orwell’s work, starting with his first book, Down and Out in Paris and London, is being published for free on the site, and in daily email chunks of 1,000- 1,500 words. The project is called Orwell Daily and is run by the Orwell Foundation, which is also responsible for the Orwell writing prizes.
