Characters branching out
Since my debut novel, The Birth of Gossip, was published in 2017, my publishing experience has gone from thrill to greater thrill!, writes subscriber Pamela Mann. This debut novel proceeding to be adapted to the stage by a very talented playwright, was the next exciting step. Wonderful as having one’s first novel published is – and there is no denying that incredible experience – it was perhaps marginally overtaken by the amazement of seeing one’s characters blossom into life in front of one’s eyes, on stage! Then came my second book, this time an historical non-fiction update, which I was asked to write by an amazing charity to commemorate its 70th anniversary. Describing its work – with the great, editing help of a long-standing charity member – was a privilege.
