HOUSEHOLD ESSENTIALS

Explore the possibilities of basic items.
Firstly, compile a list of what constitutes household essentials either for you, or for someone you want to write about – a fictional character or a real person.
Look at the items on your list. For each one, write something down: a colour, a taste, an association, a memory.
Once you’ve done this, either pick one or more of the items and write a passage of prose or poetry around them, or use the list you made as the basis for a new piece of writing.
