Anyone who knows me knows that I’m not big on having “stuff.” Having good skills can enable you to do more with less. However, when it comes to acquiring, preparing and preserving food, there are some things that I can’t do without and recommend that others consider for their own use.
Marlin 336 .30-30 Rifle
The Marlin 336 .30-30 is an excellent rifle for the money. It has a six-shot, tubular magazine that feeds the rounds perfectly. The 20-inch barrel has a 1:10 twist. The 336 has a 13½-inch pull. The rear sight is an adjustable, folding semi-buckhorn with a brass bead front sight and Wide-Scan hood. The Marlin’s overall length is 38½ inches and it weighs about 7 pounds.
