Henry Adams will be offering a Cedric Morris (1889-1982) flower painting in its forthcoming April 12-13 Fine Art and Antique auction. The oil on canvas, measuring 19½in x 2ft (49 x 60cm), is one of many that Morris painted on the theme of flowers. It is signed and dated ’23 and bears a label Wild Flowers.
The painting has come down the family by descent from grandparents to its present owner, who has memories of it hanging in their Sussex family home in the 1960s.
