An Abelam hornbill sculpture from Papua New Guinea is among the highlights at the Tribal Art Fair in Amsterdam. It is offered for €1500 by local gallery Tribal Design, one of more than 20 exhibitors at the event.
This staging, which runs from October 28-30 (plus a preview on the 27th) at De Duif, marks the event’s 20th anniversary. Although it launched as a small Dutch affair, it has grown to be international.
Several dealers come from the UK including Adam Prout and Bryan Reeves, while among the new participants are Ritual Curious Gallery from Barcelona and Zubek Gallery from Dusseldorf. Both specialise in objects from Africa.
