A Louis XV commode decorated c.1975 with shells by the designer Anthony Redmile was among the standout sales on the Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair’s opening day last week.
Ticketed at £25,000 on the stand of Foster & Gane, the piece featured a breche violette marble top and was adorned with red scallops and crystals along with other shells. It went to a UK decorator.
The fair ran from January 24-29 at Battersea Evolution hosting around 120 exhibitors.
