GLENRALLOCH played host to the fi- nal two rounds of the Tarbert Golf Club Club Championship last weekend. After 24 hours of solid rain, the course was in danger of becoming unplayable on Saturday.
However, it is a testament to the condition of the course that only two greens were under some water. Given the weather, scoring was on the high side. Bruce Mac- Nab managed a solid 71 to extend his lead by a further seven shots, while Iain Macalister and John MacNab shot 78. Best net scores from Saturday were father and son Iain Johnstone with junior on 67 and senior on 68.
Sunday could not have been more different with a lovely sunny day and a strong westerly wind. Scoring was much better with the best net scores coming from Iain MacArthur who started his back nine with three birdies and finished with 65.
