League title goes down to the wire

Monday night saw the final games of the Arran Dairies league take place. There were no surprises as Brodick and South end both won their games to ensure that this year’s league title will be decided by way of a one-off play-off match as goal difference doesn’t affect the league standings.

Both teams were missing key players in this game but Brodick had managed to bring in some older heads back to the starting line-up to steady the ship and get the win.

There were five differ-ent scorers for the home team. Archie McNicol maintained his impressive goal-scoring form by grabbing his 30th goal of the season, doubling the amount of the second top scorer in the league. Toby Wingham, Iain Keen, Matthew Dobson and Andy Thomson netted the others.
