Well-loved name is back in ferry frame

Glen Sannox early favourite but a public vote will decide

Arran’s new ferry, which comes into service next year, could see the revival of a famous name from the past.

Glen Sannox is one of the four shortlisted names for the new boat, currently known as Hull 801, which is being built at the Ferguson yard on the Clyde. The name evokes fond memories to many older residents on the island who remember it as the name of Arran’s first car ferry which was launched 60 years ago.
