Richard George Wheeler

Master architect Richard George Wheeler is considered a major influence in shaping the cityscape of San Diego and helped usher in the transformation of San Diego architecture.

In a career spanning more than 47 years, Wheeler, the son of Master architect William Wheeler and a native of San Diego, was the principal architect for many landmark buildings in San Diego, including the Westgate Plaza Hotel and the San Diego Gas & Electric Co. headquarters as well as many residential homes and apartment buildings.
