VOLKSWAGEN ID BUZZ LWB

More seats, more power, more kWh

THE CHOICE IS growing for buyers who want an electric seven-seater, with Kia, Volvo and now Hyundai (see p4) all entering the fray. For those seeking something that looks a bit different from the norm, though, Volkswagen has launched an ID Buzz with a longer wheelbase.

Described by the firm as a modern-day incarnation of its iconic Type 2 bus, the LWB ID Buzz has an 86kWh (usable capacity) battery – up from the short-wheelbase MPV’s 79kWh pack – and a more efficient 282bhp rear-mounted electric motor. At 4962mm, the LWB is 250mm longer than the SWB model.
