Concept version of the new Roadster was first shown in 2017
THE TESLA ROADSTER is finally due to be revealed in production form later this year, more than six years after the concept was shown, company boss Elon Musk has claimed.
The electric supercar, which revives the name of Tesla’s debut model, has been repeatedly delayed as the firm prioritised other models and faced significant production hurdles, In fact, it was thought to have been ultimately axed from the product plan.
But now, in a shock announcement on X, CEO Elon Musk has said the car’s production design has been signed off and it will be unveiled this year ahead of targeted deliveries beginning in 2025.
Developed in partnership with Musk’s aerospace company, SpaceX, the Roadster “has a shot at being the most mind-blowing product demo of all time”, said Musk.
