The musical Kanneh-Mason clan heads to the Austrian Alps near Salzburg to ensure peak performances for a new BBC Two show

The real-life story of the von Trapps, who provided the inspiration for The Sound of Music, is remarkable. Having escaped Austria after the Nazis annexed the country in 1938, the family made a new life in the US, where they performed as a singing group until 1957.
Now the tale is revived by the equally musical Kanneh-Mason family – parents Kadie and Stuart, and their seven talented children – as they head to Salzburg and other film locations to walk in the footsteps of the von Trapps. Expect performances of such evergreen classics as ‘Climb Every Mountain’, ‘My Favourite Things’, ’Do-Re-Mi’ and ‘Edelweiss’.
