Cage & Aviary Birds  |  8th October 2025
Our birds live in a brighter world - literally, they can see more colours. In recent years more has been learned about birds’ UV vision, and this week we catch up with this fascinating subject. From ducks to hummingbirds, numerous birds receive extra information about the world from a part of the spectrum that’s hidden to us. Even a peacock’s tail looks twice as dazzling to a peahen than to you or me! We’ve lots on canaries, too: London fancies, Yorkshires and Fifes are all covered in depth. We meet two new budgerigar fans, fly to Jersey for a very special show, hear the latest from Loro Parque on Tenerife, and learn about birdroom ‘luxuries’. Plus all the regular news and Club News.
