THE COURSE with the reputed best first hole in golf according to Jack Nicklaus has abolished its £100 joining fee in a bid to lift membership.
Committee member Cameron Mc-Geachy, 32, who barely touched a club until he was 26 and is now hooked, told The Courier of the radical plan to bolster membership at one of Scotland’s best links courses.
‘We have scrapped the joining fee for adults, making the fee for a full adult member £318.90 and an OAP member £210.93,’ said Mr McGeachy, ‘The juvenile nine-hole membership is still great value at £10 per year.
