AS ARGYLL and Bute council set its budget yesterday details emerged of how it undercuts local printing businesses.
The council’s printroom service can produce 100 business cards for £7.50, according to a quote obtained by the Courier.
The same product bought online, from national supplier MOO, would cost £26.38 and it is a similar price, within a few pence, to the Wyvex Media-owned Krisp Print in Campbeltown. Last week, George Graham, Wyvex group finance director, told The Oban Times, which it owns, along with the Campbeltown Courier: ‘It is absolutely deplorable that the council has entered into commercial competition against its own ratepayers.
