Fear of massive poll tax increase CRIPPLING poll tax rises are on the cards for people throughout Argyll, who will have to ‘pay dearly’ for thousands of non-payers in the region.
Halfway through the financial year, less than a quarter of poll tax (24 per cent) has been collected, plunging Strathclyde Regional Council (SRC) into a cash crisis, which this week spelled redundancies for 750 council employees.
