THE LORD Lieutenant of a county is the Queen’s representative and his cadets may expect to attend engagements including remembrance events, royal visits and parades.
The commanding officer of Campbeltown Sea Cadets, CPO Donnie Cameron, said: ‘The Lord Lieutenant’s cadets will spend a year in the role, mainly to assist in official duties and engagements as required and they act as ambassadors for their organisations.
‘The appointment is recognition of exceptional achievement by the cadets.’
