Simon Dew enjoyed the guest session of dreams this week, when he landed a huge 52lb 6oz mirror from his friend’s Isle of Wight syndicate. Also bagging himself a UK fifty was Karl Pitcher, who topped a 14-fish haul from Grenville’s with a 50lb 11oz mirror. Just missing out on the 50lb barrier was cover star Martin Bell who bagged a 49½lb common from Kingfisher Lake at Bluebell Lakes. Horton Church Lake opened its gates for the new season recently, and venue regular Darren Willeatts started it as he ended it, with a 46½lb mirror known as Lester.
Billy Flowers details how he got on at Parco Del Brenta in Italy, home to some truly huge carp. Mike Bridges assess life and what fishing means to him in the first instalment of his two part feature. Crowy is back again with his column, where he talks about his first fish of the year. Rob McGloin talks about big zigs for big carp, while Martin Johnson explains the benefits of baiting a single spot continuously and how you can reap the rewards.
We have 40kg of DNA Baits Shelf-Life boilies worth £260 up for grabs, plus the monthly CC Moore competition winners are announced.
