Choir & Organ  |  Spring 2025
In the Spring issue of Choir & Organ we introduce our New Music partners for 2025: Trinity College Cambridge. The New Music initiative at Choir & Organ is one that provides a platform for four emerging composers, commissioning new work from them for the partner ensemble. Matthew Power speaks to Trinity's new Director of Music Stephen Grahl about upcoming plans for the choir and his approach to rehearsing.
New developments are also afoot elsewhere, as we introduce an organ performance practice feature, looking at elements to technique and history, as well as a feature focusing on the vibrant amateur choral scene in the UK, beginning with Glasgow's Bearsden Choir. We look at European countries with strong choral traditions, exploring the rich heritage of choral music in Portugal and Leah Broad uncovers the life and work of composer Margaret Bonds in her regular series on lesser-known composers.
