MonacoCarAuctions held its inaugural sale on 8 June at the Grimaldi Forum exhibition centre, with 39 Ferraris on offer. Its chosen theme for its first auction covered mostly modern classics from the Modenese maker, although the oldest was also the sale-topper. The alloy-bodied 1956 250GT Boano (left) was once raced by Jan de Vroom in the Nassau Governor’s Trophy, in The Bahamas, and achieved what is thought to be a record-breaking auction sale for the model, at €1,512,000. It could have been overshadowed by the 1972 365GTC/4 Felber Beach Car by Michelotti, had the latter not remained unsold on a €700k-1.3m estimate. The auction also found an extraordinary price for a 348 – although, with just 11,900km, the choice-spec 1994 GTS was justifiably at the top of the market, selling for €140,000.
