As Blondie’s early days were centred around the Lower East Side club scene, it’s rather fitting that their latter revival also fed off another burgeoning New York hang-out – in this case located in Manhattan’s ultra-hip Meatpacking District. Once known for its debauchery and abundant sex clubs, the area has undergone much gentrification in recent years, trading its seedy undertones for designer boutiques. In the 1990s, it was particularly sought out for its Jackie 60 party nights, which attracted an eclectic crowd from the arts and LGBTQ community.
