Televisions vary enormously in price, but this is the first time we’ve seen a 70in TV below £500. We’ve seen many TVs with much smaller screens at almost twice the price. So the big question is what has Sharp taken out to keep the price down?
At first glance, it’s not easy to tell. Its 4K screen supports HDR and Dolby Vision, while its audio system handles Dolby Atmos. Some cost-cutting is evident in the build quality. It feels light and a little flimsy, but once you get it into position, it doesn’t look like a budget TV. It’s worth noting that the set is 1.5 metres wide and its feet are very close to the edges, so you’d need a piece of furniture wide enough for it to sit on.
