For us, simplicity is the key to a pleasing image, so we use the adverse conditions of winter to pare down the elements in a scene for us. Rows of trees look lovely in the summer, but it’s hard to get the subject separated from the background, so using the conditions we get in winter does the job for us. We use a Nikon D800 with a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 lens and a Nikon D810 with a 24-120mm f/4 lens, plus sturdy Three Legged Thing carbon-fibre tripods.
