Fujifilm X-E5
Dubbed ‘an interchangeable-lens X100VI’, the brand’s latest release revives a product line discontinued in 2023
While the X-E5’s design isn’t a significant departure from that of the X-E4, there are plenty of improvements inside and outside the casing. First is a resolution boost to 40MP, from 26.1MP on the X-E4. The X-E5’s X-Processor 5 powers subject recognition of humans, animals, birds and vehicles, and the in-body stabilisation offers up to seven stops of correction in the centre of the frame and six stops around the periphery. The rear screen is a 3in LCD panel, which flips vertically for selfies and vlogging, and the EVF is a 0.39in OLED unit. Fujifilm’s popular film simulations can be accessed from a dedicated dial on the top plate. The X-E5 will be sold in a bundle with the new XF23mm F2.8 R WR for £1,549/$1,899.
