DNA: You are a recovering Crystal Meth addict. Tell us about your own experience. Tim: I was an intravenous drug user for five years (I started when I was 19). I was using on a weekly basis and my whole life was compartmentalised.
I would be using all weekend and fucking to a point where it just wasn’t satisfying anymore unless I had drugs. At the end of my addiction it had been years before I had participated in sex without drugs. I would then turn up to work on a Monday without a wink of sleep and get through my working week as a specialist at the flagship Apple Store in Sydney. I had a terrible time trying to maintain my life while being an addict. I often look back and wonder how I survived.
You also became HIV-positive at some point during your addicted years. How did you cope with that?
