In your Winter 2022 edition of Britain's Lovely Little Green Quarterly we are very sadly marking the death of HM The Queen. Although we knew she couldn’t last forever, it was a very sad day indeed on 8 September, and Paul James's warm profile and tribute feature in this edition. We have some lovely stories to mark the start of the festive season. 'Baubles and Bath Cubes' is Margaret Hilton’s charming tale of her family Christmases spent with her six sisters and their muddled Santa (aka Dad), and in 'Percy’s Post Bag', Julie Britchford remembers one of her favourite Christmases, and we have several other seasonal offerings, including a poem from a talking Christmas tree. Christmas being the time for films, we have a great profile of Vivien Leigh in Cinemagic, and a reminder of Daphne du Maurier’s 'Rebecca' in Literary Pilgrim, which was made into an Oscar-winning film. Patrick Moore is in TV Memories, Bill Haley is in our Juke Box feature, and superfan Lin Bensley writes about jazz musician turned radio comedy great Humphrey Lyttelton.

British history, customs and traditions are all beautifully described in Evergreen magazine.

Evergreen is Britain’s best-loved quarterly, a heart-warming collection of this and that and things gone by which takes readers on a gentle journey around the highways and byways of Britain. Explore Britain’s beautiful countryside in each seasonal issue as we call at ancient churches and unspoilt villages, uncover quaint customs and curiosities, and share stories, snippets of poetry and the words of half-remembered songs with our readers all over the world.

Our travels also take us on regular trips down memory lane, with refreshing and fond recollections of Britain in “times gone by” as we revisit summer holidays, call at the village shop, savour our favourite entertainers and cherish memorable local characters. Each issue is wonderfully packed with some 20-30 short written pieces accompanied by evocative photography with a now and then feel on the best things about Britain.

The digital version of Evergreen is an ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life with dip in and out reads inside its 148 pages! Each issue can be conveniently accessed at a time and place to suit you. We guarantee it will brighten your day!
