Yet again, the last 12 months has offered a blistering array of new bikes for our collective indulgence. We thought the year would be doom-laden, what with the curse of Euro4 legislation inflicting us all with reduced power levels, nanny-state ABS and a curbing of modification ability, but it really was business as usual with manufacturers pumping out ever more elaborate, enthusiastic and ebullient machines in their quest to usurp their rivals. We’re rounding up the top 20 bikes of the year here, 2016’s finest. It’s not been an easy task, and the office disciplinary warnings are testament to the depth of feeling we have over the ranking, but here is our run down of the best new bikes of the year – feel free to disagree!
