USUALLY USED IN a studio to convert a high-impedance unbalanced signal (such as an electric guitar or bass) to a low-impedance balanced signal for direct connection to a mic preamp or mixing console, the DI box is a highly useful tool for recording applications or even on stage for situations where a direct feed is helpful.
