Types of icebergs
A coastguard working for IIP in 1950
TABULAR These icebergs have straight tops and sides. An iceberg’s length-to-height ratio needs to be greater than 5:1 to be classed as tabular.
WEDGE A flat-topped iceberg with a steep vertical side on one end, gently sloping to a lower height on the other end.
DOME A smooth and rounded iceberg shape. Contact with the moving water and surface melting can produce smooth edges.
