For a free app, iMovie has plenty of impressive post-production tools, including the option to replace a clip’s green (or blue) background with footage from another clip. Using this classic compositing technique, you can enhance your YouTube vlogs by adding background graphics to a talking head sequence, or create Hollywood style action scenes by placing zombies on a city street. Green screen compositing can be challenging, due to uneven lighting or unwanted objects at the edge of the frame, but we’ll show you how to overcome a range of common problems to create a clean composite clip.
