THE Ben from summit
IF YOU read oor last article fae the Lost Valley last month, you’ll be aware there was a wee mountain we had hoped tae climb, but the weather turned against us, (it is Scotland after all)…but the good news is, we returned a few weeks later on a beautiful sunny day, and did the necessary deed.
Laoch was allowed to accompany us after giving a pinkie promise to behave… unlike on the last expedition…which admittedly, we took wi’ a pinch of salt…. and as it transpires, rightly so.
As it was ‘that time of year’, once again…(dunno where the time goes)… the Ballachulish bluebells were resplendent in full bloom, therefore we paid oor annual visit to the fields that nestle the shoreline of Loch Linnie, I had a dook and Laoch wimped oot…yet again, and then onto Glencoe Lochan as Laoch had never been there before either…and its on our way to Kinlochleven anyhow, so it’s always worth a wee visit.
No tent to pitch this time though, as we weren’t in the mood for the Wii Shiite going walkabout during the night again, and as the camping trailer is still in the ‘bits o’ plywood’ construction stage, we sofa surfed….an acceptable situation all round…and less midgies as a bonus.
