SUPER LEAGUE -ROUND FOUR
DUFTY SEALS THE POINTS
HULL KR 20
WARRINGTON WOLVES 22
STEPHEN IBBETSON
Sewell Group Craven Park, Thursday
THIS was a truly see-saw game where you never knew who was going to win and it’s still hard to say now who should have done.
In some respects neither team deserved to lose, yet at times it seemed neither wanted to win.
That it was Warrington, not Hull KR, who took the spoils can largely be attributed to the former taking their chances, and the latter failing to. In football parlance, one team was good in the boxes, the other between the boxes.
Willie Peters felt his Robins were the better side in “set-for-set rugby” and it certainly always felt like this was their game to seize. But they threw it away - literally in the case of James Batchelor dropping the ball over the line, and Mikey Lewis failing to put Jez Litten over with a poor pass.
