AS WE COVER in this issue’s news (page 8), both AMD and Nvidia are now starting to release their mainstream GPUs, by which I mean the ones an average person might actually be able to afford. Yes, the last couple of years of having to pay four figures for a graphics card looks like it’s coming to an end. But not everyone’s happy, as our columnist Jeremy Laird points out this month in his Trade Chat on page 13, with his critical eye aimed particularly at the 4060 cards from Nvidia, which may start at $300, but still don’t offer great value compared to their predecessors.
