Probably the two most popular modelling techniques are the wash and drybrush – or vice versa depending on your approach. I’ll confess I don’t remember where I picked up on the idea of dry brushing other than I obviously learned it from somewhere, probably a combination of articles in modelling magazines or books. Certainly it wasn’t a trick I learned off my father (sorry dad) as he rarely went in for any kind of weathering on his models and I’ll credit its usage from reading – you guessed it – Chris Ellis ‘How to go Plastic Modelling” borrowed from the school library.
