HELLO EARLY 1982
I had a band called The Unclaimed, a ’60s punk band for want of a better term. We were breaking up and the bass player Barry Shank and I were going to form a new band. It was going to be, if you will, a regular band, that maybe people wouldn’t have noticed until we found Stephen McCarthy [guitar] through an ad in an LA supermarket rag called The Recycler, which is responsible for everybody from The Bangles to The Go-Go’s to X.
