Astunning example of a Star Wars 2021 Masterworks sketch card by artist Angel S. Aviles sold on auction platform eBay on April 24th, 2022 for $6,500. The card highlights all four original trilogy main characters—Darth Vader surrounded by Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo.
Sketch cards have been popular since the early to mid-nineties, but few examples have ever sold for as much as this recent Star Wars Masterworks card (The Simpsons Matt Groening Art De Bart cards and Joe Jusko Marvel sketch cards are some exceptions). Artist Angel S. Aviles has worked with Topps, Lucasfilm, Netflix, and Major League Baseball and his work is highly sought after by collectors. Seventy-two bids were placed over the course of the auction, helping this card achieve a price in a galaxy far, far away!
