SCOTLAND’S blue badge scheme has been extended to allow people who may mental disorders or a lack of awareness of the world around them and pose a risk to themselves or others in traffic to obtain a blue badge.
The blue badge scheme provides various on-street parking concessions for people with disabilities.
As part of a pilot now extended until the autumn, people who have conditions such as dementia, autism and down’s syndrome, and may lack awareness of danger from traffic, will be eligible for the badge.
