STAFF and pupils of Inverlochy Primary School at Fort William have been praised for their calm response after being alerted to Friday afternoon’s incident when a man was spotted with what looked like a weapon, but which later turned out to be a toy gun.
Following the sighting of man in the Camanachd Crescent area, Inverlochy Primary School management made the decision to have an immediate lock down until the situation was deemed safe.
Highland Council education chiefs say the lock down went ‘very smoothly’ and after contact with the police confirmed the person in question was in custody, normal classes resumed.
