LATEST DEVELOPMENTS AT THE TOURING CLUBS
Campsites opened for just four months last year, but that shortest of seasons didn’t deter 70 new privately owned sites from joining the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s 2100-plus list of members-only Certificated Locations (CLs).
CLs can accommodate a maximum of five tourers and that restriction on numbers was, perhaps, the opportunity seized on by the Club’s new additions.
The adults-only Goodleigh Hill CL, in Worcestershire, won the Club’s 2020 Best Newcomer of the Year Award, while CL of the Year went to Woody Kiln Farm, in Pembrokeshire, South Wales.
C&MC sites were very busy during the ‘open window’, so much so that a pop-up campsite opened for 50 days at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire (pictured), to help with capacity at the Bladon Chains site. The Club’s overseas tours for 2021/22 feature a number in Europe, with destinations including Germany, Portugal, France, Austria and Italy. Find out more at www.caravanclub.co.uk.
