Practical Fishkeeping  |  Practical Fishkeeping June 2019
Spring is truly sprung here in the midlands, and I’m delighted to think that we might actually get a pond season this year. Not that I’m holding too many hopes. Two years ago it was cold and wet, and nothing happened. Last year it was so lovely that everyone went to the beach and had holidays instead of staying at home, so ponds weren’t being dug.
Still, it is a delight to see some outstanding koi appearing in stores around the UK, like the ones we saw at Shirley Aquatics this month.
To get into the swing of things, we’re going to have a stab at an aquascape with native pond plants over the next few weeks. This way, we can embrace the pond season even though we don’t have ponds in our own gardens! If it works, you’ll see it in the July issue.
