The solarization effect is an old darkroom technique that leaves one half of the tonal range as normal, and inverts the other half to negative. It’s easy to recreate in Photoshop with Curves.First convert your image to black and white, then add a Curves Adjustment Layer. Plot either aV shape or an inverted V as shown, to invert one half of the tonal range of the photo.
